Build and deploy a functional web application

AI has changed who can build software. Judgment still decides what gets built.

Being able to generate code is not the same as knowing what should be built, how it should work, whether what you built is correct, how the pieces fit together, when AI should be trusted, and when deeper expertise is required.

You don’t just learn about building. You build.

AI Product Builder is a practical, instructor-led program that teaches participants how to take an idea or business problem through the process of defining, designing, building, testing and deploying a working digital product using AI-assisted development.

01
Understand the problem

Before reaching for tools.

02
Define and design

Scope, requirements and experience.

03
Build with AI

While retaining control of decisions.

04
Test, deploy and evaluate

Recognize when specialist expertise is required.

Designed for people who understand problems — and want to build the solution.

AI Product Builder is for people who understand problems, opportunities or businesses and want the ability to turn those ideas into working software with AI.

Business & product professionals

Analysts, product managers, operations professionals and others who understand what needs to be built but have traditionally depended on technical teams to build it.

Entrepreneurs & consultants

People who want to turn ideas into prototypes, products, internal tools or solutions for customers.

Technology professionals

Developers and technical practitioners who want to become more effective at AI-assisted product development and strengthen the product thinking around their technical skills.

Leaders & innovators

People responsible for innovation, transformation or new initiatives who want hands-on experience of what AI now makes possible.

You do not need to be a professional software developer. However, participants should be comfortable using modern digital tools and willing to work through technical problems.

Capabilities developed through the full journey from idea to deployed application.

01

Turn an ambiguous idea or business problem into something buildable

02

Understand users, workflows, requirements and business rules

03

Decide what belongs in the product and what does not

04

Design a coherent user experience

05

Understand the fundamental building blocks of a modern application

06

Work effectively with AI development tools

07

Review and question what AI produces

08

Connect interfaces, data and functionality into working workflows

09

Test happy paths, edge cases and failures

10

Debug and improve their application

11

Deploy a working web application

12

Recognize when security, architecture, scale, compliance or complexity requires deeper specialist expertise

Every participant works on a product throughout the program.

Bring an idea from work, a business opportunity, or a problem to solve. If needed, VaultNoir can provide a project brief.

  • Internal business tools
  • AI-enabled applications
  • Customer-facing products
  • Business prototypes
  • Productivity applications

Live instruction introduces each stage. Your project carries it forward.

The schedule is agreed with you or your organization — 16 hours of live instruction plus structured project work between sessions.

Learn

Live instruction introduces concepts and methods for the next stage.

Apply

Guided exercises and working sessions during live classes.

Build

Structured project work on your own product between sessions.

Review

Bring progress, decisions and challenges back into the learning environment.

Advance

Feedback and the next stage of instruction move the product forward.

“The classroom is where you learn the method. The project is where you develop the capability.”

From problem to deployed product — eight stages.

01
Understand the problem

Start with the problem, user and desired outcome — not the technology.

02
Define the product

Turn the idea into clear requirements, workflows, priorities and achievable scope.

03
Design the experience

Think through how people will actually use the product before rushing into implementation.

04
Design the system

Understand the data, application components, integrations and technical decisions behind what is being built.

05
Build with AI

Use AI development tools effectively to turn the product definition into working software.

06
Connect the product

Bring interfaces, data, logic and integrations together into complete working experiences.

07
Test & improve

Find what does not work, challenge assumptions, debug problems and improve the experience.

08
Ship & evaluate

Deploy the application, put it in somebody’s hands and understand what it would take to take the product further.

AI is part of the process. Judgment is the skill.

Context

Give AI enough information to understand the problem and goal.

Decomposition

Break complex problems into manageable pieces.

Inspection

Understand what AI has produced before continuing.

Validation

Do not confuse something that appears to work with something that is correct.

Judgment

Know what to trust, what to question and when deeper expertise is required.

A modern AI product-building toolkit.

Participants work with current AI and development tools across the product lifecycle: thinking, prototyping, implementation and cloud deployment.

The current program may use tools such as:

  • ChatGPT
  • Claude
  • Bolt
  • Cursor

…together with an appropriate cloud development environment.

Tools change. The ability to take a problem from idea to working product is the capability being developed.

Individual, cohort, virtual or in-person — adapted to how you learn.

1:1

Work directly with an instructor with the program adapted around your experience, pace and project.

Private cohort

Develop practical AI product-building capability across a team while every participant works on their own product.

Virtual

Complete the program through live online sessions.

In-person or hybrid

In-person and hybrid delivery can be arranged for individuals and organizations.

Additional fees and travel expenses may apply to in-person delivery.

Don’t just teach your team about AI. Let them build with it.

AI Product Builder can be delivered privately for organizations that want employees to develop practical AI capability. Every participant works through the same product-building methodology while developing their own application.

At the end of the program, the cohort can conclude with a product showcase where participants demonstrate:

  • The problem they chose
  • What they built
  • How it works
  • What they learned
  • Limitations
  • What they would do next

Practitioner-led, not theory-led.

AI Product Builder comes from practice, not theory. The methodology draws on experience across business analysis, product development, software testing, architecture, technical sales, solution engineering and hands-on AI-assisted product building. Live sessions combine instruction, guided work and direct feedback on the product each participant is building.

Common questions.

Do I need to know how to code?
You do not need to be a professional software developer. You should be comfortable using modern digital tools and willing to work through technical problems. Participants with less technical experience should expect to spend more time on project work between sessions.
How are the 16 hours scheduled?
The program includes 16 hours of live instruction. The schedule is agreed with the participant or organization and is normally spread across multiple sessions so participants have time to apply what they learn between classes.
How much work is required between sessions?
It depends on experience and project complexity. Participants should expect to spend meaningful time completing structured project milestones between sessions.
What will I build?
Each participant works toward building and deploying a functional web application based on an appropriately scoped idea or project brief.
What if I don’t have a project to work on?
Participants are encouraged to bring an idea from their work, a business opportunity, or a problem they want to solve. If you do not have an appropriately scoped project, VaultNoir may provide a suitable project brief.
Will my application be production-ready?
The goal is a functional, deployed application. Depending on intended use, scale, security, regulatory requirements and technical complexity, additional specialist engineering may be required before production use.
Can I build a mobile application?
The standard AI Product Builder project is a web application. Native mobile development and distribution through Apple’s App Store and Google Play involve additional processes outside the standard program.
How much does the program cost?
Programs are priced based on delivery format, number of participants, location and customization requirements. Contact VaultNoir to discuss your program.
